 The Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care is available to candidates aged between 16 - 18 years old. This is due to the apprenticeship being fully funded and the need for an employment opportunity for the qualifications to be assessed. The role will be to share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of residents in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence and to help in the general day to day activities of the home. Care provided by auxiliaries is expected to include care that would reasonably be given by members of the residents’ own family and is not expected to include tasks that would normally by expected to be undertaken by a trained nurse.
